PROJECT PROFILE

Four star hotel, Crowne Plaza Melbourne, houses 100,000 guests a year within its 402 guest rooms. Melbourne’s only absolute riverfront hotel, Crowne Plaza Melbourne was also our first major hotel project.

The owners’ brief to Ornoco was clear; transform the aging facility into a vibrant and contemporary offering that could rival Crown and Sofitel. Mindful of cost, our team worked hard throughout the project to streamline and refine our processes and supply chain – to deliver to the client a product that met their budget.

All projects contain some unknowns. An unexpected curve ball was having a change of designer and architect mid-project, resulting in Ornoco coordinating manufacture and design with four parties as opposed to two. With a substantial amount of FF&E furniture and designs updated midway through the project, we needed to be dynamic with our manufacturers to meet the new design intent.
